Subject: SATERN activation being extended seek Net Control volunteers

To all of the fine volunteers

SATERN continues to receive several outbound Health & Welfare messages from Puerto Rico devastated by both Hurricane Irma & Maria. So I’m going to extend SATERN’s monitoring period. Some time Monday (September 25) I hope to have a new Net Control roster out, spanning Tuesday through Friday, September 26 through 29, for the hours of 1600 up to 2300 UTC end.

So for all of you who graciously volunteered to be a Net Control, please suggest a time & day(s), if you can still help out. I’ll do my best to accommodate your schedules.

If you are not selected, it may because I may have more responses than available times slots. I generally assign people on a first come first assigned basis. Nevertheless, I would like thanks you all now for your volunteering.

To make it a bit easier for me I ask that you:

1) Specify times in UTC, Zulu, or GMT as I might make mistakes otherwise

2) At the end of your e–mail, please place your call–sign next to your name.

Many of the folks in the U.S. who have received the Health & Welfare messages from Puerto Rico break down in tears hearing the good news & were understanding of the bad news (destroyed houses & belongings). One woman today says she had had no word for Puerto Rico for 5 days.

God bless you all,
Ken G, AG6SV
