Noah and the Ark quiz

1 – How many people went on the Ark?

Eight. Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives. (I am assuming each had only one wife. (Gen

8:16)

2- How many sons did Noah have and what were their names?

Three. Shem, Ham and Japheth (Gen 6:10)

Cypress (Gopher wood). One should note that it is the same kind of wood used to make the Cross Jesus

was crucified on.

4- How large was the Ark?

The Ark was 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. 1 cubit is 1.5 feet thus the Ark was

450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet tall. It had three decks.

Only one that Noah installed on his own (not part of God’s instruction) however, for ventilation there

was a 1.5 foot opening all around, just under the roof.

Noah was over 500 years old (Gen 5:32), He was 600 years old when the flood came (Gen 7:6) The

time to build it therefore was most likely somewhat under 100 years.

7- How many animals of each type did Noah take on the Ark?

Two of every creature that moves along the ground, Birds, and food for them all (Gen 6:20), then in

(Gen 7:2) it says 7 pairs of the clean animals, or 14 of each total. Unclean animals were just one pair of

each.

He did not, he brought only land animals that live on the ground Gen 6:20)

He did not, God caused them all to come on their own. (Gen 7:9)

Noah did not, God closed and sealed the door. (Gen 7:16)

11- From the time Noah entered the Ark and the door was sealed, how much time passed before

he left the Ark?

13 months. The flood started when Noah was 600 years of age, on the first month. He left the Ark when

he was 601, in the 2 nd month, therefore the elapsed time was 13 months.

Noah built an altar to the Lord and sacrificed burnt offerings, (some of the clean animals). (Gen 8:20)

17- What sign did God give mankind to stand as a reminder that God would never destroy the

world with water again?

The rainbow (Gen 9:13)

18- How long did Noah live after the flood, and at what age did he die?

350 years, he died at the age of 950 years of age (Gen 9:29) – Noah was 600 when the flood started so

that plus 350 made him 950.

19- Did Noah eat Lamb before the flood?

No because man-kind was vegetarian until God gave us animals to eat after the flood (Gen 9:3)

20- Absolute reference was made to clean and unclean animals. The law that defines clean and

unclean was not given until the time of Moses at a much later date; how can this be?

In those days God talked directly to His people and God told Noah what was considered unclean. It

was not ‘written’ until Moses but it was still given by God, to Noah.
